Not Today Satan

Hey friends!

I have to be honest with you all… today is not my day. Not at all. I’m having a really hard time dealing with myself today. My anxiety is taking over and I hate it.

Yesterday at my new job was awesome. I came home to happy kiddos, played hide and seek as a family and watched American Horror Story with my husband. We went to bed, said our prayers and I apparently woke up on the wrong side of the bed.

From the second I woke up, I knew the day was going to be off. Today is one of those days that nothing looks good on, nothing feels right and I could cry at any moment.

I’m not alone, right? You all feel defeated once in a while I hope. I know I’ve said it before, not every day can be full of rainbows… And by golly, today is one of those days.

“Cast all your anxiety on HIM because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 1:7

Today calls for Gilmore Girls, sweat pants, another cup of coffee and doing my “I’m thankful for” list twice today. Seriously, I had to get my journal out for a second time today and write what I’m thankful for.

[Yes, I have literally changed my pants three times. And I’ve decided it doesn’t even matter, so sweats it is.]

Alright self, you can make today better. It’s not even noon yet, there is still time to turn the day around. Yes, today has been kind of rocky. Yes, your kids are extra needy today. Yes, the dog needs to get a life. But you know what?! There is so much to be thankful for.

I’m alive.

My kids are healthy.

Our home is warm and full of love.

We have jobs to support our family.

Friends, thank you for letting me vent. I think I can go conquer the day now and tell Satan to go kick rocks.  God is with me and with him all things are possible!

If you’re having a rocky day, make a list of what you’re thankful for. It really does help. Talk to the big guy upstairs and cry if you need to. That’s probably what I’m going to go do right now.

XoXo

  1. My dearest friend,
You are not alone at all. We all have these days and your Grateful journal is awesome. I do a Grateful journal in the evening at least 3 Gratefuls (one has to be of something that didn’t go “right” but there’s always something positive or to learn from).
You’re so iNsPiRiNg to many including me. I also started Writing 7 Positive Statements daily and sharing them with someone or recording them.

  2. I feel the same way today. Nothing is going right and I feel like I’m drowning. BUT, it can only get better, right? I would give you a hug and cry with you if I saw you today. You’re a great mom/wife/friend! You got this and just keep smiling! 🙂
